Dr. Ferreira is originally from Brazil and a second generation orthodontist. He has been practicing Dentistry since 1991, when he graduated dental school. He moved to the United States in 1994 where he completed a three-year orthodontic residency program at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Dr. Ferreira was invited to join the UAB orthodontic faculty in 2000 with the responsibility of teaching dental students and residents the art and science of orthodontics.
In addition to classroom teaching, he managed the Orthodontic Clinic at UAB, which has over 1200 patients a year in active treatment. His academic career has led to publication of several scientific papers, book chapters, and national and international lectures on the most current topics and techniques in the field of orthodontics. He plans to continue teaching part time at UAB when he is not here planning and providing you or your children with outstanding orthodontic care.
