Poor brushing can cause permanent damage to your teeth.
This damage can be in the form of permanent white spots, brown spots, cavities, and/or gum disease.
To prevent this from happening, a routine of cleaning all the surfaces of every tooth is essential to achieve a beautiful smile.
-
HAVE A SYSTEM ! Start on one side, in the very back. Brush two teeth at a time working your way around the entire arch. This will prevent skipping some teeth.
-
IT TAKES TIME ! I recommend going through the entire routine first without toothpaste, preferably outside the bathroom, perhaps watching TV. Patients tend to rush through brushing while in the bathroom… Once very single tooth has been thoroughly brushed, go to the bathroom and brush with toothpaste.
- FLUORIDE! After your last meal and long brushing session, rinse with fluoride (any brand) for one minute, every day. Doing this will prevent those ugly looking white spots.
