Dr. Andre Ferreira

As an orthodontist, my goal is to provide my patients with high quality and efficient treatments with a gentle and personal touch. Each patient has a different goal for his or her oral health and I love creating a smile that is unique to each patient's needs, and is beyond his or her expectations.

Education and Continuing Education

As a part of my orthodontic education, I took part in the following studies:

• Dental Degrees (DDS, DMD) from Brazil and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry

• Specialty Certificate and Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry

• Board Certification by The American Board of Orthodontics

• Active Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Orthodontic Specialty Clinic

I am always actively seeking the latest proven orthodontic methods and technologies to integrate into our practice. As part of my continuing education, I have published several papers and book chapters in professional literature, and lecture both nationally and internationally on the most current topics and techniques in orthodontics.

Professional Dedication

I have been practicing dentistry since 1991, when I graduated from dental school. I moved to the United States in 1994, where I completed my orthodontic residency program at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. I was invited to join the UAB orthodontic faculty in 2000 with the responsibility of teaching dental students and residents the art and science of orthodontics.

My first joy is my private practice. I love giving individual attention to each patient and making personal connections. I enjoy watching our young patients mature throughout the process, and learning from patients of all ages.

My whole team is committed to providing the best orthodontic experience in a professional and personalized manner. All team members  are talented,  outgoing, and only wants the best for the people in our community. They’re a true joy to work with!

Family Life

I am originally from Brazil, and am a second-generation orthodontist. I have lived in Alabama since 2001, and enjoy raising my family here. My wife and I have two daughters, and I always enjoy spending quality time with them. My hobbies include surfing, travel, computers and technology. I am also actively involved in many aspects of our community, especially in local education and youth sports.
